AFC Hayes In The Community
A new youth group has been set up in an effort to offer an alternative to low level anti social behaviour in the area. The Kingshill Youth Club will be based at AFC Hayes and has the full backing of the Metropolitan Police and Hillingdon Borough Council.

The steering group committee consists of local parents, Police, local councillors, members of the AFC Hayes Committee and the youths themselves, who have a large input into how the club is run.

This is an exciting new project to combat anti social behaviour and AFC Hayes are proud to be a part of this new scheme.

Quiz Night
The next quiz night at the club will be on Friday TBA. Team registration from 8.30pm for a 9pm start. Entry is £1 per person and you can have as many people in your team as you like. All proceeds shared out as prize money.

IN THE HOT

 SEAT …

With AFC Hayes

boss

Joe Mitchell

I’ve not given up on

 this season, but...

THERE are more changes ahead at
AFC Hayes - and good ones, I hope !

Things haven't guite gone for us so far since the old Brookhouse club became AFC Hayes for this season.

But the Installation of Paul Jeffries as the club's new chairman just before Christmas, promises there will be more progress ahead.

What I have heard so far has been extremely positive and I'm looking forward to sitting down with him before the end of the season to see just what he can do for us.

I've, not given up on this season, even though we're about a dozen points off the play-offs, but I'm looking ahead.

Perhaps we can get a couple more players in this term and round off the season in good shape for a real bid for promotion next time.

But, if we can get some good results    in our last few matches against most of  the leading sides, then who knows?

I'm a fan of the playoffs and.l'd love to be imvolved In thern. After all, if they weren't there, there
would be a lot of fairly
meaningless football matches taking place at the moment.

I've been here for six seasons, takinq us up from the Spartan League end then Division Two of the Ryman League.

I'm delighted that we still have some of the lads from our Spartan League days with us today and they have grown arid developed as a team.

It hasn’t been so easy in the Southern League and, in all honesty,we haven’t Really found any form of consistency this season.

A very good example was, after winning four of our previous six games, we went to Didcot Town last Saturday and got thumped 6-0

And I must admit I probably need to take certain things on board.myself as a manager.

I'm a total fan of attacking football and that has gone against us on occasions.

Looking ahead to next term, I will probably look to bring in a few more experienced players and temper our style just a little.

I don't want us  to play negative football-far from it-but we need to be our own best friends when results are there for the taking.

We've done so, well in the last; few seasons - we've also won local cups and reached the last 16 of the FA Vase -but I don't think we have reached our full potential just yet,

We can increase our fan base and,
with the help of the new chairman, take
further strides forward.

It's been a great ride so far.and I definitely want to be on the next part of the journey.
